DINING COMFORT

Every morning one or two squirrels wait on the deck for our kitchen light to come on, knowing they’ll soon get a handful – several, really - of peanuts. They sit upright on their hind legs, with front legs tucked close to the chest, peering into the window with the cutest, hopeful looks on their faces. “Did you notice me yet? I’m ready for my peanuts now.” Most of them grab one and run off to a private spot to munch away, but a couple enjoy the comfort of the deck chairs for their peanut breakfast. I always recognize this one because he's lost a piece of his ear.
