Captain

The lady on the right is Joan Emerson and was the Captain of the Ranger Guide group I belonged to in the late 60s - early 70s in Hockley, Essex. She is now 94 and lives in Norfolk. Friends of mine still keep in contact with her and visited her last week, hence this photograph. She was very good to us and seemed to know how to handle a bunch of teenage girls - letting us do as we liked when appropriate but also knowing when to advise.
