Maiwand Lion Memorial

The Maiwand lion stands resplen/dent in the Forbury Gardens, on top of the memorial to those of the 66th Berkshire Regiment of Foot who fought and died at Girishk Maiwand and Khandahar in the first Afghan War in 1878-80. The regimental mascot, a dog called Bobbie, survived.
