Thin Blue Line

Several of the older buildings in Twyford have their function engraved into the stone work. It was possibly not foreseen, in more stable times past, that the function of the building could be transitory. Hence the Post Office turns out to be a ladies hairdresser. The police station however remains, though the county police have departed to be replaced by Thames Valley Police.

I think the police station is unmanned most of the time, this is possibly not much more that a presence (or pretence) to keep the Parish Council happy.

I was amazed on heading out for a short walk in the direction of Waitrose for breakfast that the sun could hold such warmth. Mr Twyford Waitrose does a very good apple strudel. A visit to the Duke of Wellington pub surprised me also. A pint of beer in Twyford is quite an expensive treat. Though to be honest I am not sure what it costs in Aberdeen. A visit to my local is required for research purposes.
