Waverley at Largs pier
Or rather, the boys on PS Waverley watching the hordes queuing to come aboard at Largs on a glorious day that had us all complaining that we were overdressed for the sail. The sun stayed with us all the way to Millport and while we enjoyed a romp in the Cathedral grounds (some of us didn't romp, but you get the picture), before a sudden downpour half an hour before we were due to rejoin the ship. Thus justified in our pessimism, we were able to enjoy a wonderfully traditional fish supper with an untraditional bottle of Rioja before going on deck for the sail up the Cowal coast to Dunoon in the last sun of the day.
