Tentative Steps

Down the road to a new care structure for Nan.
The carers have been great & I can say this based upon experience of not so great carers for other relatives. I for one will be just a little less anxious knowing that someone is coming round, making sure that Nan is up, washed, in clean clothes & most importantly eating and taking her meds - hopefully in time Nan will also appreciate that the carers are actually helping her keep her independence.
Nan still seems surprised every time they turn up - but its only day four - so hopefully once a routine starts to form it will begin to be normal for her. I've tried to take a back seat & let the carers work Nan out - but its hard when Nan addresses her comments to the carers via me - but they looked to be having a good natter as they made their way round the garden - Sara the Carer using it as a good excuse to check out just how stable Nan is on her feet - I'll probably get some peace & quiet this afternoon as she'll be worn out after that huge walk!
