Trinity House

I nipped out for a bit of shopping at lunchtime and stopped to admire the stately Trinity House as I was coming down the Kirkgate, instead of walking past it as usual.

It's a bit hard to make out the gilded inscription at the top - I think it says "Rebuilt 1816, John Hay Esq, Master". The carved crest at the very top seems to incorporate two globes and at its foot the same anchor and rope symbol that's at the base of the older carving on the side wall that I blipped a while back.
