PATCHWORK BEAR

In 1971 my Great Uncle John boarded a train at Gateshead with this bear and travelled south to arrive at my door in Newbury, Berkshire. No one had any idea he was coming. The bear was for his first Great-great Nephew, my son. Today I patched the bear's tatty bits and he looks a lot happier for it, though I think I heard him mutter "About time too".
