At last a butterfly I can identify
Having moaned previously about the complexities of identifying Blues and Fritillaries, here is an easy one. A Scarce Swalowtail - Iphiclides Podalirius. Actually it is by far the commonest Swallowtail here so the name is a bit of a misnomer. I love the tiger stripes all over it but it was a shame one of its streamers was broken.
Today was our neighbour Alex's 50th birthday and it was party time on their terrace. Assembled offspring with associated partners, mates from school and us as two random English punters. Enjoyable do however and good for our French!
