Mount Maunganui

We were supposed to fly direct from Rotorua to Christchurch at lunchtime today but our flight was cancelled (we were told the plane had been struck by lightening the day before and required checking). Instead we were offered a 9.30am flight to Auckland (40 mins) and then a 2pm flight to Christchurch (90 mins). It was a bummer having to race to the airport and lose the morning with Dave's sister Chris and also to hang around at Auckland airport. But there were some good views from the plane. This is where we were staying on Tuesday (the surprise location, Mt Maunganui).

Great to be home. Thanks mum for meeting us. Looking forward to a night in my own bed. After a bath.
