Senbei-jiru

Probably a result of a time of poverty, trying to use all scraps of food, the soup called Senbei-jiru has now become a famous food of Aomori. It's just a chicken stock based soup but it has pieces of broken rice crackers (Senbei) in it. Traditionally it probably didn't have the vegetables and meat that it does now though. It was good and the staff at this shop sing a song when you order it.
