Crater Lake

Crater lake fills the caldera of Mount Mazama, a volcano that collapsed in a cataclysmic eruption in 5677 BC. The explosion blew 12 cubic miles of rock into the sky.The deepest lake in North America, Crater Lake has no outlet but maintains it's level by evaporation and seepage. The lake's purity and 1943 foot depth account for it's stunning blue colour.
