Lunchtime

This wasp was hanging off one of our tomato plants enjoying a snack at lunchtime today.

I have identified it as a field digger-wasp (Mellinus arvensis) but I am quite happy to be corrected.

I came across another wasp yesterday feeding on a dead bird - your decision if you want to follow this link to have a look.
