holiday reading
The 2nd week of my summer holidays starts tomorrow.
Dr D is due to arrive from Bavaria shortly, by means of easyJet's Munich/Edinburgh flight. It should be a 23:10 arrival. Something has gone wrong, and they're now predicting 00:39.
Ouch!
Home for 1:30 - 2am. That's 3am for her. Ach well, she's tough.
Picked up an order from the bookshop in the High Street today. A bit of choice there.
Cost £28.97, plus I had to drive into town and take 40 minutes out of my day. £22.10 if ordered on Amazon tonight (free delivery).
Is that a price worth paying to help sustain a High Street bookseller (national chain and not an independent)?
I wonder what grant incentives Amazon got to build their huge distribution centre a few miles from here? No such breaks for the High St business. And then there's Amazon's tax avoidance.
