I just happened upon Alistair Darling Labour MP and leader of Better Together in Sauchiehall St late this afternoon, walking intently amid a trio of smiling colleagues.

Minutes later I was beside another politician whose era ended abruptly by sudden death in October 2000.

The statue of Donald Dewar is very good and captures the style of the man magnificently.

Unfortunately it is badly located photographically, apart from looking skywards all other views have the mundane or worse of new Glasgow architecture dominating the picture.
