United I stand.

This a trunk of a pohutukawa tree,one of our natives. These trees thrive near the coast and are often found clinging precariously to a steep cliff. Their trunks are often like this one pictured with many,many leads down to the ground and they all join together to support the tree. With so many leads the trunks have quite a textured look.
