Crazy croquet

Another happy day, with more sunshine, more partying and great company. After the Brazilian reunion and revisiting my birthplace, we followed special friends back to their place last night. Today, Liz’s daughter (HH’s goddaughter), her husband and two daughters came over for a barbecue, as well as two other dear friends who were at the party yesterday – whose daughter and three grandchildren dropped in for a while also. Croquet ensued –longish grass, growing every whichway, a steep slope and the killer instinct residing in both Liz and HH led to some interesting situations and much hilarity, with children and dogs in full participation.

Around 4 pm, we tore ourselves away and set off for Winchester, to spend a night with our older niece. It’s so good to have this chance to see friends and family, and with the bonus of beautiful weather and the countryside looking its best, England seems a wonderful place to be just now.
