Surveying at sunset!

I offered to survey a derelict vegetable/fruit patch at a friend's house. She is giving it a makeover for her husband's sixtieth birthday as it went to rack and ruin in conjunction with his declining knees. The boys have cleared it (mostly) and the idea is to build raised beds and a new higher fruit cage with gravel paths.

I will draw up the survey and all the family members will be given a copy to draw their designs, including birthday boy. We'll then discuss the merits of each, hopefully with some consensus at the end, and of course, final say with himself.

The only time I could secretly survey was Wednesday evening between 6.50 and 9.20, so it was fast and furious job as it's a weird shape, roughly 21m x 21m with a number of existing trees, the septic tank, oil tank and a shed, and head-height weeds in places. Just about made it before the light went, so lots of triangulation and five figure numbers (I work in mm). My friend made an excellent chainboy at the other end of the tape measure and gave me cocoa at the end, just before I scarpered at 9.25!

How about this view across the valley to the West from your vegetable garden? Paradise or what!
