Park Railings

With a dire forecast for Sunday, and an empty larder requiring a visit to the supermarket, this was probably going to turn out to be last real day of my holiday. Accordingly I headed to Petworth House, another National Trust property, and enjoyed a gentle and informative stroll round the house and pleasure gardens.

A ha-ha, or recessed landscape design element that creates a vertical barrier while preserving views, separates the pleasure gardens from the main estate designed by the great landscape architect, Capability Brown.
