A Forgotten Corner
We awoke to rain – which didn’t really stop all day. A very grey day indeed. We set off in search of sunshine, blue skies or just a dry spell. Our objectives were too optimistic! We only found varying shades of grey and intensities of rain! We drove all round the island. Our first stop was Lochranza. BB likes the swings on the shore with their great view out over the water. Too wet for swinging, so we picked up some provisions for a picnic lunch – which we later ate in the car, somewhere by the sea! Next stop was Kildonnan to go on a seal hunt. We were sure it was brightening, but I think that was just wishful thinking. BB was in his element spotting large jellyfish which had been washed up on the shore. We saw the seals, but not nearly as many as we have seen in the past.
Ever onwards, we carried on round the island and back home. We went out for a lovely meal to celebrate a second wedding anniversary. Two years ago today two of our friends got married on the beach in Arran on a lovely hot and sunny summers day. It’s a shame they didn’t get a hot and sunny day today.
This forgotten corner is at Kildonnan.
