Flowers Cast Adrift

I took my camera to the canal today and whilst standing on one of the bridges I noticed these blooms that appeared to have been cast adrift in the water.

As I reflected on this I did wonder if this had been a deliberate action, perhaps some kind of romantic gesture or memorial...however it's more likely they had graced someone's home (or boat), had gone 'past their best' and had just been thrown away.

Unusual enough to be worth a photo though.
