Thalia Dealbata

My marginal plant which I bought from Hampton Court Flower Show, many years ago, is now in flower! Although it is sub-tropical it has survived by dying back in the cold weather despite it being an evergreen!
I love the panicles of violet/purple flowers.
It is apparently from Mexico and South US and its common name is powdery alligator flag!!
