A Little Bit Closer
20C with plenty of cloud and some sunny spells. Moderate breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. After the rain of the last few days it was good to be out in the sunshine. To try a slightly different shot of the three trees and get a little bit closer we walked into the top of the field through the opening at the corner and went along the lines left by the Combine harvester.
We walked up to the church and then went down the bridle path to the shore and across the level crossing to get down to the beach. The tide was out and the boats were lying on the sand and seaweed, except Silver Cat which was moored out at the seaward end of the channel through the rocks. We walked along to the fishermen's huts, more on stones than on sand.
As we walked along East Row past the cottages there were men rebuilding a small porch on the front of a cottage. I had noticed a big crack in the old porch a few weeks ago. Looked like it had been struck by a vehicle. The biggest vehicle that goes along the narrow private road is the bin lorry. I wonder.
Later I mowed the front lawn.
