To Get a Man In
The roof on my house is really quite complicated. If I ever build another house it will have a simple roof-line hopefully without any dormer windows.
The gales of last winter dislodged a ridge tile and the very heavy rain of last weekend demonstrated that a dormer was not watertight.
So today was the day when they had to be fixed. This was not the sort of job I could do myself particularly when it was necessary to put up scaffolding.
With a bit of luck the job should be finished tonight. The lad in the red shirt is an apprentice. This is a particularly gratifying sign that our Island building trade may be looking up a bit.
