Little Things

Big gestures have their place in any relationship, but it's the little things that someone does every day which are more important in the long run - even if it's something as simple as writing a handwritten note to tell you you have full access to the fridge while she's away. So far the new woman in my life has continually touched me with her frequent and unforced generosity that makes me happier and want to try that bit harder to return the favours. It's strange to think that we didn't know each other before August, but I guess you never can predict when good things will happen to you. I feel very fortunate these days :-)

The pleasant start to the day continued with a welcome return to the gym after a few missed days, and a fun first drumkit class. My teacher is a really friendly guy who is clearly enthusiastic about what he does. After a few different exercises he had me play along with Billie Jean which was quite good fun. It's interesting to see how my Taiko technique both helps and hinders my ability to play a different sort of percussion. Now at work, with luck we'll be nicely busy. Good day!
