High Park Selfie
Cameras weren't allowed at the CanStage performance of Shakespeare in High Park, not even of the empty stage, so we had to settle for a selfie.
R and C are in Design + Drama camp this week at the Design Exchange and the Shakespeare in High Park performance and backstage tour were part of the experience. It made for quite a long day as the performance didn't end until 9:45 pm. Our good friends who live a few subway stops away were kind enough to let us park in their driveway to assist with getaway logistics. This also meant that R and C had the fun of experiencing two rush hour commutes on the TTC, after which C's feelings about subways had considerably soured. All in all it meant leaving home before 7 am and getting home at just before 11 pm - a long day indeed.
The performance itself was worth it, however. The amphitheatre in High Park is a lovely spot to see a play, and the performance of As You Like It was great. When children 12 and 7 are able to follow Shakespeare, the cast is doing a great job.
I do have a feeling we are going to struggle to make our train in the morning though...
