Maria Maria

I walked by this curioseties shop lots of times. Today the showcase was filled by Jesus and Maria figures. It was impossible to take a photograph without a disturbing reflection, so I had to cut of the edges and darken the picture to at least get the Maria's visible.
I had a strange experience today. I thought of shooting the churchtower in the centre of Groningen. By the time I got there the sky had turned grey and it became so misty that I could hardly see the top of The Old Grey ('d Olle Grieze') Martini tower. I wanted to give it a try from the roof of a parking facility, where I was higher and had a better view. As I was very busy photographing a quarreling Gull and Crow, two safetyguards came up to me and said it was not allowed to take pictures from there, due to the fact that it was private territory. I was stunned. Everybody is allowed to park their car there (you have to pay of course...), but if you're caught making pictures of a well known monument there, you will be ordered to leave.....
They became a bit grumpy when I kept asking what this was all about, so I left in a 'bit of a shock' :-(
