Queen for a Day
Behold my new tiara!
Each month my department of about 150 of pharmacists, dietitians and pharmacy technicians (and me, the only nurse) has a little celebration. The non-management staff nominates and picks an "employee of the month” who is then honored during a afternoon break with cake and other refreshments. It is meant to provide the clinical staff with an opportunity to recognize one of their peers for their good work. The directors have no input, and never receive this award, that is until today. Needless to say, I was very touched by it all.
This exquisite diadem is made fine imported hard plastic. The sparkling diamonds, rubies and emeralds are high quality acrylic and the crown is expertly trimmed in only the finest fake synthetic Marabou feathers. What more could a girl ask for!
You must view it in LARGE to see the fine craftsmanship, captured so expertly with my little point and shoot. ;-)
And so it begins, these last days before retirement. I was hoping to fade away like an old soldier, but I think they have other plans for me.
Surely, the faceted gems and marabou will qualify this for the Tuesday Textures challenge, too.
