Democracy in action

How about this for a bit of local democracy?

A delegation from RAGE (Residents Against Greenbelt Erosion) went along to our local councillor’s surgery this evening.

We checked the web site beforehand and yes the meeting was still on and at the same venue- Dunblane library.

One member of our group even emailed Councillor Mike Robbins the week before saying he would be coming to his next surgery.

So imagine our surprise tonight when we got to the library to find it had been cancelled.
When? today.
Councillor Mike Robbins had gone instead to a barbecue and agm at Plean Country Park.


Now Mike Robbins also happens to be Head of Planning at Stirling Council and Provost (Mayor).

Most of the 200 letters objecting to the Park of Keir development come from his constituency.
