War Memorial - Berkswell

This is one face of the beautiful War Memorial in the church yard at Berkswell in the West Midlands.

The memorial is a square / cube building made of red sandstone. Clearly lots of thought went into to the design and build, given it has arches on three sides. I don't think I've seen such an intricate memorial in such a small village - it's beautiful, well maintained and clearly loved by the local residents.

Apparently the memorial has the names of 38 men who lost their lives in the First World War and 10 from the Second World War engraved on its interior walls.

A simply beautiful building and a humbling start to the working day.
