Kendal Castle Hill

Today's the day .......................... to look the other way

I've taken many pictures of Kendal Castle from various spots in the town - like this one here - but this time it's a view looking west from the Castle.

It's a favourite spot to walk round or go and sit at because you do have a great view over the town. That's because the Castle is built on a mound or drumlin left by the retreating Kent Valley glacier at the end of the last glacial period some 15,000 years ago. The hill on the horizon is Scout Scar which has also featured in several blips.

So it's all very familiar - just looking in another direction .......................
