A day of errands and bits and bobs and yer general domestic stuff before a quick 40 in the pool on the way to meet just sitting for a festival night out.

The first show was pretty enjoyable. She certainly had a lot of charm which goes a long way in my book. Very likeable. It's not been hugely publicized but if you're an Edinburgh resident then nearly all tickets for Gilded Balloon shows are only a fiver for the next couple of days. Check the T&Cs at the box office.

The second show, however, was fantastic. Brilliantly performed, tons of energy and completely engrossing. And, I'm sure he'd want you to go along however much you pay and I think, but don't hold me to this, that it's 2for1 tickets at the Assembly box office on Tuesday as well for this one. Highly recommended.

Finished off at the book festival's Unbound in the Spiegeltent, a very entertaining event with some Canongate writers and singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni.
