Anticipation

This cactus was planted in the ground in a bad place in our yard when we moved in. I put it in this pot 3 years ago and hoped it would survive. It did! Slowly it grew more stalks. I was awaiting blossoms, but they never came.

This summer, little furry tufts appeared at the tips of some stalks. I have been watching these tufts for 2 months. Finally, there is a show of red. I cannot wait!
