Roseisle
The remnants of Hurricane Bertha were predicted to arrive on the Moray Firth today but we decided to take a chance and set off to see what conditions were like. Certainly the River Feshie was in spate and quite an awesome sight going under Feshie Bridge. No river tubing today as the rocks they were negotiating were all under several feet of water. Along the route to Roseisle on the coast there was evidence of significant flooding but thankfully when we arrived the rain was already slowing and we were able to complete all of the planned exercises.
Roseisle is every orienteer's dream area - forested sand dunes with technical terrain but very runnable, spongy forest. The juniors thoroughly enjoyed it, many of them experiencing it for the first time.
