Thomas Land!!!

We left early for Thomas Land. I was surprised that we left at exactly the time we said we would and not the usual half an hour afterwards! We arrived just after the Heywoods who were two rows ahead in the car park!

Raring to go we all loaded double buggies and wandered into the park and Thomas Land. In all honesty, I think Bex and I were the most excited ;-) Our thinking was to begin with Thomas Land before moving on to the zoo and playgrounds. Unfortunately all the other parents had had the same cunning idea. and it was very busy !

Arthur and Ben were over awed by the noise and sights. They had a strange mixture of excitement and terror and the toddlers inability to:

A) stand still
B) Hold hands
C) walk in the same direction as others
D) Queue

... soon became apparent .

We queued for many rides with the boys then refusing to go on . Ben and Arthur both made it to the moment of climbing into cars before screaming and backing away. Smiling and patient park attendants had clearly seen it all before . Slightly frustrated and keen to go on the rides ourselves ( and get our money's worth ), Bex and I grabbed the girls who showed the boys how to ride a carousel without a fuss. Giles and mike soon realised that Annie and Jess were the key to going on things so off they went!

Anyway, we all enjoyed a ride on Percy to the zoo section of the park and the boys finally relaxed rushing off to play on 'Spencer's' slides and climbing frames. Bex and I set up a picnic in the shade and Annie and Jess crawled through the picnic upsetting tubs of olives as they went.

Funnily enough, when we returned to the centre just after lunch, it was much quieter and easier to go on things. A warmed up Ben decided to go on Sodors classic cars whilst an exhausted Arthur (who'd thrown up after lunch) dozed in the pushchair.

All in all it was a fun day, a learning curve and a valuable warning that Disney Land is probably not a good idea in two weeks time!!!
