Blue cones

A very windy day today, the result of 'Bertha' I am told. But sunny most of the time, with the odd shower!

The HG took me to a neighbour's garden to show me these fir cones, which were unknown to us and we thought rather unusual. I looked up my book of trees but couldn't see anything resembling them, so just have to call them fir cones.

Had a couple of very pleasant surprises; I was given a 'thank you ' gift of toiletries and sweets from our country dancing reacher for helping out at the summer class in our church. And the HG had given some plants to a neighbour, and was given a box of chocolates and a lovely card from her.

People are so kind. Now how do we eat all of these sweets and chocolates and not gain weight!
