Perigee-syzygy

Also known as a supermoon, if you're into astrology^1.

When the full moon or new moon is at its closest point to Earth, it looks bigger and brighter than normal; this is called perigee.

When the sun, moon and Earth are all aligned, it is called syzygy.

Apparently, the moon will keep getting bigger until Sunday. See if you can get a good shot of it by then!

If you can make out the orangy blobs on the left, they're swans. I don't know when they sleep, but they certainly weren't sleeping at 4.20 this morning. Not that I was either.
