Pin-tailed Whydah
Whydah is not a misspelling... It was a visitor to my backyard feeder. Specifically, it is a Pin-tailed Whydah from Africa.
My next door neighbor called to tell me to look for it. I was able to get a few pictures before scaring it. I hope it comes back.
It was a challenge identifying it. It was not in my bird books. I finally searched using Google for a red beak long-tailed bird and found it!
My travel companions and I saw them or something similar in Africa on the Serengeti. Not a great flyer with those tail feathers.
