Mono Monday - Food

I took this photo in the tree in our quad this morning, and was going to post it in full colour but then Farmergirl reminded me that it was mono Monday and that the topic was food. It seemed appropriate to desaturate as the tui is clearing hogging into a good meal (or sipping into it anyway).

This tui is really enjoying his food. Nectar of the blossoms, or nectar of the Gods, depending what his religious leanings are.

I know every season I blip lots of photos of tuis - they're a favourite of mine. It is so great to have them back in the school grounds each season.
