Meerkats?
That's what they looked like, in the middle of the burn in the Bishop's Glen this afternoon - a small group of meerkats standing upright in meerkattish fashion. They weren't, of course; the mystery lapidary artist has been at it again, and these wonderfully delicate little structures are all tiny stone castles made with three or four rocks from the riverbed.
I don't know how they're balanced, nor how long they'll remain, but perhaps their transience is part of their charm. They made me smile on a dreich afternoon.
