Linlithgow Palace and Loch

On Friday 8 August, my ex father-in-law, James Philip Addison was laid to rest at Kingscavil cemetery in Linlithgow. A service at St. Michael's Parish church thereafter was followed by a reception at the West Port Hotel.

Phil was a true gentleman - a class act. He was very kind to me and my ex-wife in the early years of our marriage and indeed to our two children, Calum and Frances, when they came in to this world.

It was a day of reflection for me. It felt like a look back into a previous life as I met up with friends and family that I hadn't seen in over nine years. As I had previously decided to toast the great mans life, my car clearly had to be left behind.

And so, to today. I had to return to my former home town (where I lived from 1988 until 2005) to pick up my car. I decided to walk along by the loch. And it is from there that I took this shot with my iPhone 5. It's not the best quality, but I quite liked the composition.
