Second Friday art walk in Brunswick

This has been a strange weekend so far. I am blipping Friday's picture now. I can catch up on the other ones later.
I have misplaced my transfer thingy to my iPad from my photo card. I am SO not pleased. It's limited my ability to blip quick unless I use my phone.

Friday was a great night. The weather was perfect and we were spot on. I love nights like that. I had a strange day so I was ready for a great night.

Friday at work was crazy. We are so busy. Some people would think that this is job security. It's not the kind of job security that you want to have. One of they things I do is see patients in their rooms if they have concerns or they need forms signed. I don't do it very often however, Friday I had to see a patient on precautions. This required me to gown (not evening) and glove. These are patients with infections or at risk for an infection so that a barrier needs to be in place for protection for both. Here's the challenge; You have to put on this long precaution gown over your clothes. These are stored in pockets hanging on a door outside the room. They are usually tied at the top in back so you can just slip them on.
This is harder than it sounds. Well I found it harder than it sounds. I managed to tie it all up in knots and I couldn't get it undone. The nurses were hysterical watching me do this. I finally undid it got the gloves on and went in to see the patient. And............
She was asleep and did not want to talk.
I just wanted to take a nap after that.
Three nurses did thank me for not entering that profession. They have no worries. Nurses are angels and they truly perform magic. I have seen it. They also are doing a job 99% of us would never do. It's a calling. I have nothing but respect for these wonderful people.
My appointment with my doctor after work went about the same. He has a gut feeling that I may have a scaphoid fx. The only way to diagnose this is to have a cat scan or MRI. I am allergic to contrast dye. So I have to have an MRI. I can't get one at my hospital until 8/20. My doctor is not happy so, I have to go to another hospital and have one Monday. (And hit a new deductible and a new 30% copay) so 600 dollars later. (Oh yes they collect in advance.......) I will have an MRI Monday afternoon. I am nervous. I am a bit claustrophobic. Ahhhhhhh vitamin X ...yes please.

But the gig, saved the day. We laughed and had a blast. People enjoyed us and sat and listened. My alternate blip was a woman in kabuki makeup in a red robe and a fur hat (with ears) carrying a wooden box on open palms as if it was a holy gift, walking down the street. ( did I mention the heels?) The picture was blurry. Hmmmm maybe she was too mysterious for photos.
As we went across the street for dinner after the gig, the sky gave us this awesome gift of color. I couldn't get a decent shot without standing in the middle of the street...... turns out there is a law against this.... .
Isn't it funny how we make excuses for our blips sometimes. Bottom line ....it looked like this and it was warm and windy and a beautiful August night in Brunswick Maine.
I would not trade this life.
