Barley Head ....

....I think!

I always believed that the way to tell barley from wheat was from the ripe seed heads - wheat carries on pointing upwards and barley turns over and points down. Barley also has the longer spiky bits!

However looking on t'interweb it is not always so clear cut! However, I think this is a barley head - but I stand to be corrected.

I picked this up a couple of days ago from a lane next to a field that had just been harvested. I was anticipating a wet day and having to do an indoor blip. Well today was that day. Rained pretty much all day ( a very brief interlude this afternoon) but now it is 'persisting down' with some thunder thrown in.
