Fort Washington, MD

Great fort from just after the war of 1812 (after Washington was burned to the ground in 1814, it seemed like a good idea to build some real defences). Lunch at the very bizarre National Harbour, followed by a tour around the fort, and a leisurely drive home.

Ospreys abounded, as usual, and we saw a 2-year-old bald eagle swoop low over us. All too fast for me to whip the camera out.
