Plain of Six Glaciers

One of the classic hikes in the Lake Louise Area, which brought us up to the Plain of Six Glaciers. The view is absolutely stunning and we were closer to the glaciers than expected (see in large). The peak on the photo is Mt. Victoria South (3464 m) with the Upper Victoria Glacier hanging on the rock and the Lower Victoria Glacier in the valley.

A bit below is the teahouse, where we had indeed tea and an apple pie before continuing. Going back we took the hike via the top of Big Beehive (2270 m). It was the highest point of our 5 hours hike offering a splendid view over the Bow River Valley and the Canadian Rockies, before then descending to Lake Agnes and Lake Louise.
