And God said, 'Let there be light'
... and there was light, but the Electricity Board said He would have to wait until Thursday to be connected.
~Spike Milligan
We were without electricity (again) from 7.30-2 today so it seemed appropriate that my blip be of light.
A few weeks ago, the people taking down the Christmas lights bashed into the front of our house. Apparently, when they did that, they loosen the electric box in the cellar. When Guy 1 came, he threw his hands up and said 'I'm not touching that!' It was all very encouraging.
Then throughout the day, Guy 1, now with Guy 2 & 3, were discussing their options, one of which included shutting our road for a few hours (which is a one way road leading into Bridgnorth so not a decision to make lightly). It was finally decided to shut power on the street for an hour (which affected Marks and Spencer, hairdressers and Post Office).
But the good news is a new cable is now installed. The other good news is that due to having no light/computer/internet/washing machine/iron/ etc - I was able to read for hours non-stop. It was fantastic only made slightly awkward from my hands shaking from shivering as we also had no heat.
