Egyptians, Birds and Muffin Prickers
Today was very busy with several site visits including one to Bagshaw Museum at Batley. I used to visit the museum as a child and always found the gothic building, nestled in the woods at the top of the park, mysterious and spooky. It used to conjure up images of Rupert Bear and the professor, the Addams family and the Munsters.
The museum contains Kirklees Council's Egyptian collection including a mummy, sarcophagus and lots of artefacts dating back 4000 years. It's a remarkable collection for a small town museum.
This particular display includes a perfectly preserved Ancient Egyptian forearm.
There are far too many things to blip here - from a golden eagle to a muffin pricker.
