Memory Lane

We went to our running groups this morning...Andy with the fast ones and I join the walk/runners. My group clocked up just over five miles. I'm really enjoying this group and think I might start going on Thursday mornings when I'm back from my holiday.

On our way back we decided to go the scenic route which took me past my first school. It's now a nursing home.

When I first went into the school we were the only class. Around 24 children and that was it. As the years went on so the school was built up around us. What you see here was our little hall where we did our PE and had our dinner. To the back of the building was a building we called The Medway which was our class. Our playground was in front of the building.

It was an old Victorian building which had to be opened due to new housing developments. The school continued for many years. It had many new buildings added the field next door became our sports field and we even had playground equipment.

But sadly it all went.

It's nice that it's still being used and it's lovely that the old building is just the same.
