River Irt

The locomotive 'River Irt' on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway where I spent a very enjoyable day on and around. May seem a long way to go from Edinburgh for a round trip but leaving early AM it is quite easy with proper planning and booking ahead to get cheap train tickets. Travel from Edinburgh to Carlisle then get a Northern Rail service to Ravenglass, where the 15 inch line station is adjacent to the main line one.
