Dubrovnik
Today was our last full day in this city. We spent much of the time relaxing on the hotel terrace by the sea, taking a dip in the water or summoning the waiter to bring us a nice chilled drink.
From our vantage point we had a great view of the walled city. A similar view was available from the breakfast terrace one floor up, or the terrace outside the piano bar, two floors up. Fortunately, in all of these locations, the city beach - seen on the right of this blip - was masked from view. As you can see, the city beach rather detracts from the scene, with its tightly packed sunbeds, parasols and bodies. The sand to create the beach was imported, and you are charged for the use of the sunbeds. To take this view, I had to move to the far end of the hotel grounds, nearest the city.
Never mind, this is still a classic view of this lovely city, and I shall be sorry to leave it.
